As soon as I start a weekly post again, I miss a day.
Typical. But this time I actually have a valid excuse.
Saturday marked my Nan’s 80th birthday; setting
off a weekend of celebration. My mind had been elsewhere last week also, hence
the shortness (and lateness) of this Sunday, Sunday … or should I say Monday,
Monday.
I’ve still been trying to wrap my head around the Manchester attacks, alongside
the London attacks that have only just happened. It’s a scary, crazy world
we’re living in now. I would like to say that I’m not scared of going up to
London this Friday to see Phil Collins; but there is a part of me, right in the
back of my mind, that is apprehensive of something happening. I think everyone
in England is suffering with that at the moment.

• This week was consumed by revision for my theory test more than anything. Which happened to fall upon the week that the new game pack for The Sims 4 – ‘Parenthood’ – was released. I couldn’t play the pack as much as I wanted to in the lead up to the release, but now that my theory test has passed (literally, I passed first time!) I can now play to my heart’s content … to an extent, as I’m sat here writing this.
• Even though I passed my theory test first time, I was slightly annoyed because as soon as I got out of the car, Foo Fighters dropped a new single. I thought nothing of it, as I believed it was the one they played live recently (‘The Sky is a Neighbourhood’). Lo and behold, they released a new song – entitled ‘Run’ – and a music video to go with it. I’ll review the track (and video) this week, alongside the Lana Del Rey video I said I would review last week; ‘Run’ however has got to be one of Foo Fighters’ heaviest (and best) singles yet.
• Yesterday everyone around the country – and world – were watching the One Manchester Benefit Concert at Old Trafford. It was an extremely emotional and poignant show, and I didn't really know what to do with myself afterwards.
H3H3 released a new video which took my mind off the terrorist threats and lives that have been lost due to these attacks. It may seem like a trivial thing to be happy about, but channels like H3H3 and Jenna & Julien keep me sane. And as it’s Monday, that means a new Jenna & Julien podcast …
