This blog is my baby. It rarely feels like work for me, but I do put effort in. As much as I don't like to, I do care if the work I put out there is actually getting seen by people other than my Dad.
This week, however, I got nominated for the Sunshine Blogger Award by one of my favourite bloggers, Mettel Ray. I literally will not stop bringing this up in conversation, not for being nominated (which is beyond awesome), but because people that I don't see or talk to on a daily basis actually come on here to read stuff. You know, what blogs like this are made for.
As given, every award has a set of tiny rules for accepting it, here are the ones for Sunshine:
1. Post the award on your blog
2. Thank the person who nominated you
3. Answer the 11 questions they set you
4. Pick another 11 bloggers (and let them know they are nominated!)
5. Set them 11 questions
1. What was the last movie you saw and loved?
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. I've only seen half the movie, since I wanted to watch it again from the beginning to make notes for a future review because of how in love I am with this. I hadn't heard of Shane Black until I watched the trailer for Nice Guys (which I'm still dying to see), and then I found out he wrote one of my favourite films of all time, Lethal Weapon.
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is just a perfect mix of everything I love; fast-paced dialogue, beautiful cinematography, a Deadpool-esce narrating style, Robert Downey Jr. and Val Kilmer, neo-noir and it's fucking hilarious.
2. Name an actor, an actress and a director you would pair in a movie and what genre would it be?
In light of Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, I'd have Shane Black directing Ryan Reynolds (my bae) and Emma Stone (my other bae and apparent lookalike) in a neo-noir black comedy crime film

3. Last song you listened to?
Ticklish Warrior by Thee Oh Sees. I only found this song the other day from it playing on the radio; my brother and my dad absolutely hated it when it came on, then there's me in the backseat like
4. Book to movie adaptation you would like to see happening in the near future?
The only book I wanted to be adapted into film was Ready Player One, and somehow literally all my dreams came true with that one. Spielberg is directing it, they cast Wade with someone who isn't inherently famous (Tye Sheridan), T.J. Miller, Simon Pegg and Olivia Cooke.
This sort of thing never happens to me. I don't think I'll be able to survive past the opening credits of that movie in 2018.

5. From all the Chris', which one do you prefer: Evans, Pine, Hemsworth or Pratt?
For the love of God, Pratt all the way. I've been swooning after that man since his lovable puppy days in Parks and Rec. Then he buffed out and made me swoon even harder.
6. Name your 3 movie pet peeves.
1. When a film is an adaption of something and the director says that they're going to stick closely to the source material, and doesn't7. If you had to choose, what season would you live in forever?
2. Overuse of cheesy one-liners (if a film goes over the amount that are used in Independence Day, then I can't watch it)
3. Studios that get too involved and spread their corporatism over certain film franchises
Summer, but at the point where it's hot but not unbearably hot. I could live in an unbearably hot summer if English homes had air conditioning; alas we do not.
8. Imagine your pet (or an imaginary pet) had an inner voice, which actors/actresses' voice would he/she have?
I don't have a pet right now, but the ultimate dream is to have a dog called Dogmeat and his voice and personality in my mind would be Ryan Reynold's Deadpool.
9. You had a really bad day, what book or movie will make you feel better?
The X-Files: Fight the Future.
10. If they were handing out superpowers based on your personality, what superpower would you want and what would you probably end with?
All of Wolverine's powers since as a kid the 90s animated version was my bae and I wanted to be him when I grew up. Although, I would probably end up with powers similar to El Diablo in Suicide Squad; possessing the ability to conjure flames albeit uncontrollably whenever I get too impatient, angry, annoyed etc.
the bae; the dream
11. Sleep, Marry, Kill:
The amount of thought I have put into this is so sad lmao
One thing before we go ahead - I've never understood these. Like you're supposed to have a dire choice here, but if you choose to marry someone you get the benefit of being married to them and sleeping with them. So the marry choice is a win win really when you think about it.
And if you know me, you know my undying love of Ryan Reynolds so me choosing to marry him is inevitable.
1. What's your favourite opening credits sequence?
2. 70s-early 90s Spielberg or mid 90s-now Spielberg?
3. What film made you fall in love with film itself?
4. Best soundtrack of all time (like one that flows seamlessly with visuals and the screenplay; so filmgasmic)?
5. What film would you like to see that is based on a true story (in light of Hidden Figures being released in 2017)?
6. Opinion on reboots, remakes and sequels after sequels?
7. Will the DC universe ever find solace again after the backlash surrounding Dawn of Justice & Suicide Squad?
8. A director that deserves more recognition than they have received?
9. Favourite screenplay of all-time?
10. Favourite Disney animal or alien?
11. Favourite television show pre-2000 (we all know I'm trying to shoehorn X-Files in here lmao)
(5 blogs since I'm still relatively new to the awesome community on here)
